Frequently Asked Questions

Creative Endeavors

Do you take on commission/freelance projects?

Commissions are closed at the moment.

What sort of creative services do you offer?

Logo design, brand development, website work, social media maintenance, 1:1 small business coaching sessions, calligraphy and lettering work, product photography, product design and production.

What is the difference in commissioning art and licensing art?

Commission- basically, you have a creative concept/idea that you want to hire me to create for you. You pay a flat rate for my design services, I get to work and once completed, I send you the artwork and you own all of the rights to the design to use as you please.

Licensing - the short explanation of licensing is: you will be paying to rent my artwork for a time. This works well if you have means of production and happen across my page and see a few already existing designs that you would like to rent and use.

Where can I see some examples of your work?

Here is a great place to start!

What are your favorite things to draw?

Flowers are the things I draw the most. I also tend to lean into stereotypical notebook doodles: hearts, stars, rainbows, ice cream, etc. I love, love, love drawing flowcharts but I dont always have a ton of ideas for them. Maybe one day…

Blogging, Podcasts, Social Media

What is the best way to share your art/posts?

I love love LOVE seeing your posts and thank you for asking. The best way to share my work with your audience varies depending on the platform BUT I am never ok with someone taking a screenshot and posting it without any credit. I will always ask you please do not do that. It not only degrades the quality of the artwork but it often has no direct link back to my page. The paper airplane on Instagram, the repost on Tiktok and the share options across other platforms are always preferable. Tagging me is also great!

Can I be a guest on your podcast? Will you be a guest on my podcast?

I am not a very organized person; my podcasts bear the brunt of this flaw. I’d love to have guests one day but it wont be any time soon. ME on YOUR podcast however, this I can do. I’d love to be involved in an episode of your show. I have done that in the past and enjoyed it so much. Just shoot me an email !

Can I submit a writing piece for the blog?

Yes. The Crybaby Blog is currently on hiatus but I do enjoy using my platform and reach to be able to share the voices, stories and lived experiences of others and hope to bring it back soon. So, yes, you can absolutely submit a piece for the blog. You can read through the blog submission process here and sign the blogger contract here.

Do you sell ad space on the blog or the podcast?

I hear and see so many of the same ads - the alarm system, the website platform, the online therapy plugs, etc. As a way of being more mindful about what I am promoting, I will only be promoting small businesses in this way from now on. If that’s you, I’d love to talk to you about this.  Email me and let's discuss!

Shop Talk

Do you offer wholesale?

Yes and I love it so much. Not only does it allow me to continue getting to do what I love for a living but it also gets my work out into the real world where people from all over can see and experience it. There are a few ways to place a wholesale order with me, head over to this page for all that info.

Do you work on consignment?

I have, I’m not completely opposed to it but if I had to choose, I prefer wholesale to consignment.

Are there other places I can shop your work?

Yes! If you are looking for brick and mortar places that carry my things, click here. To shop online directly from me, click here. I am also available on Society6 and I’m a featured artist on Self Care is for Everyone, a company I am thrilled to work with.

I placed an order and have a question or concern…?

It is always best to email me for anything relating to your order. Always email, always.

Do you offer local pick up?

I have done this in the past and right now, I am in between shopping platforms but hopefully I will be able to start offering this again in 2024.

Book Related

How can I recommend a book to you?

There are a ton of ways to connect with me thanks to Tiktok and Instagram. Instagram DM’s are a great way to get something in front of my eyeballs.

What kinds of books do you enjoy the most?

My favorite genres - according to my StoryGraph data - are horror, thriller, mystery and romance. I also really enjoy nonfiction, true crime, smut and anything that has a darker plot. I am not great with fantasy, it settles weirdly in my brain. Sci-fi is usually hit or miss for me.

I am an author, can I send you a copy of my book in exchange for a review?

I love connecting and working with authors, especially indie authors, but I do not currently commit to author requested reviews/trades. If you’d like to send me your book anyway, just because you think I might enjoy it or you’d just like to get it in front of me (and possibly on my socials) that works but I can’t commit to anything more.

If those terms are ok with you, send me an email and we can go from there!

Can I join Weirdo Book Club?

DUH! Come read with us!

Miscellaneous

Where are you located? Do you have a brick and mortar shop?

I create out of my home in Memphis, Tennessee. I do not have an actual shop, I am solely online and I do not see this changing anytime soon.

What is your creative background? Did you go to an art college?

My background is in crying. I took maybe one or two creative classes in my very short lived and unsuccessful college career. One being art history and one being photography, both of which I failed. I have learned every skill on my own and over time. I hope I am always up for learning new things and growing in what I love.

What’s your “real job”?

This… this is my real job. I am just as shocked as you are, trust me.

What are your hobbies outside of art?

My family usually ties up most of my free time, also naps. I am a huge fan of naps. I love plants and gardening, listening to true crime podcasts when I am supposed to be sleeping and singing very loudly in my car on long solo drives.

What are other ways I can support you?

Thank you for asking. Sharing my work the right way is a wonderful way to put my work in front of more people. It is also a free, low maintenance way of supporting me. Tell people about my work, share my posts to your stories, repost my content, etc.

I have also been working very hard on my Patreon page to create a unique and exclusive experience. It makes such a big difference in an artist’s life to have a monthly wage coming in, that isn’t something we get a lot of the time and it is so, so helpful for so many reasons. I try to make it a mutually beneficial relationship too so you can request custom artwork, have access to exclusive items not available anywhere else, get discounts and giveaways only available on Patreon, etc.
